Makeup Tips for a Party Face

Makeup Tips for a Party Face
Unless you're heading to the prom, you don't need to spend hours perfecting your hair and makeup for a party. However, putting on a pretty party face is a must! You want to look stellar while sipping your favorite cocktails and noshing on those tooth-picked appetizers. Try these easy, makeup tips for a party face, even if you only have a few minutes to spare.

Wear bold lip colors.

Remember that bold lipstick color that you never have the confidence to wear? (It's probably rolling around your vanity drawer.) It is a must have component for a party face. First, dab your lips with lip balm. That will mute the color some and keep your kisser from drying out. Try a luscious plum, bright orange or a downright dirty red lipstick color. For this party face makeup look, downplay the eyes and cheeks. All the attention is on your lips.

Reach for the liquid eyeliner

(I prefer the marker type.) Here's what you do. Hold the outside of your eye taut. Don't distort the natural line of your eye; just hold the skin in place to get a good line. Draw from the inside to slightly outside of your upper lash line. Don't forget to create a sweep at the end. A winged eyeliner is the go-to eye look for party makeup!

Get shimmery cheeks

Pep up that every day cheek color with a shimmery bronzer. You've got options too. Reach for a mousse, gel or powder bronzer. Get instant color and a touch of gold on your cheekbones.

Heavy metal anyone

It's time to party! A festive get together is the ideal opportunity to wear those metallic eyeshadows. Sweep the lower lid with silver, gold or copper shadow colors. Press a small eyeshadow brush along the lower lash line too for a sultry smoky eye.

Remember, party makeup is a bit brighter and more playful than your work makeup style. Don't be afraid to show your playful side!
