How to Have an Unforgettable Super Bowl Party

How to Have an Unforgettable Super Bowl Party
The Super Bowl is coming up fast and families across the nation are preparing to party. If this is your first year hosting a Super Bowl party, fear not. We've got all the tips, info and ideas you need to pull off a party your guests will never forget.

Decor

How you decorate depends on your budget. You can get away with not decorating at all, so long as your place is clean and smells good. If you've got a little discretionary income socked away, you can go all out with décor. Ebay and sporting goods stores are loaded with cardboard signs, cut outs, banners, couch covers, lamps and even serving dishes. If you've got the money, go for it. Super bowl Sunday is as big for football fans as Christmas is for Christians. Fly your team's flag proudly.

Food

A Super Bowl party isn't complete without oodles of food. I start cooking on Saturday to be sure that I too have time to enjoy the game. If your components are complete, throwing together platters full of goodies is super easy. The best choices for game day include finger food appetizers, sandwiches and plenty of chips and dip. My hungry hoard loves French Dip or Phili Steak and Cheese sandwiches. You can't go wrong with nachos, chips and dip and cookies. If you're the chef du jour, start looking up recipes on Instagram and allrecipes.com now so that you'll be ready for game day with the best possible food.

Furniture

The number of people at your party is the strongest determining factor of the type of furniture you'll need. You're going to need a big screen TV strategically placed so that everyone in the house can see what's happening. If smokers are going to be there, consider placing a small set on your deck so they don't miss out on any of the action. If a bunch of little kids are going to be there, put a TV in a separate room for them. Just be sure that someone is keeping an eye on the little ones. It's never a bad idea to have a table just for food, folding camping chairs or blow up chairs and TV dinner stands so that everyone has a place to set their drinks and plates.

Entertainment

As difficult as it is for some to believe, not everyone is a football fan. Be considerate of those guests, and try to have something entertaining for them to do. If there is a quiet nook in your home, make it available to them. Supply plenty of books and magazines or set out a few board games that are friendly for players of all ages. A laptop or tablet computer can be a life saver for a bored guest.
Your super bowl party should have something for everyone. With the right décor, food, furniture and entertainment every guest should be happy and feel welcomed into your home. Hopefully, your party will go off without a hitch and your guests will return home exhausted, stuffed and happy from celebrating your team's victory.
