"I can't wait to grow facial hair," said no woman, ever. Still when you get older your hormones can do crazy things to several parts of your body, including your hair. Instead of the fine, invisible peach fuzz that most women have, you sprout stiff black or white quill-like hairs that like to hide, until you step outside. Rather than wear a veil or cower in your office until you get home, take a proactive stance and control the appearance of that unwanted facial hair. Even if you can't stop it from appearing you can learn how to better detect unwanted lip and chin hair. Use these tips to get started!
Invest in a light up makeup mirror. Those wimpy 7 watt mirrors won't do. Your light up system should be 20 watts or above. Catch even those sneaky hairs with a three-mirrored kit.
Step into the light. If you do have an embarrassing black hair or two, you are more likely to find it in the bright light of day. Always take a peek at your mouth, neck and chin before you leave home.
Apply your makeup and look. One sure way to detect unwanted face hair is to put on your makeup. If you use liquid makeup you'll see that the product won't blend around the hairy areas. Crème makeup is a no go too. Powder foundation only highlights the problem. If your makeup doesn't look smooth or if it has bumps in it, these may be as a result of facial hair.
Once you've come up with a plan, be vigilant. Once your hormones level off, hair growth should return to normal. If it doesn't or gets worse, contact your physician.
