Spring is just around the corner with only a couple of months away. With winter drying up our skin, it is no wonder we are looking for skin care solutions to repair the damage winter has done. It doesn't matter whether you're a man or a woman, caring for your skin care should be a priority for everyone. Since spring is actually technically less than two months away now according to the calendar, although winter seems to drag on for a long time it seems, we should actually start taking care to repair our skin now. There are a few things, such as beauty equipment we can use and things we can do to start repairing dry skin and other damage winter has and still is doing to our skin. The great part is, these tips to help start repairing winter skin damage are all natural without the harsh chemicals most skin care products have these days.
Start your Morning with a Wake-up Scrub
Coffee wakes us up in the morning and gets us started for the day ahead. However, it is not just for drinking anymore. You can now use coffee grounds as an all-natural body scrub to wake your body up. This natural coffee body scrub is actually used in Thai and Balinese spas. You will need a few other things besides coffee grounds including 1/4 cup of olive oil, a teaspoon of pure vanilla extract, a cup of pure turbinado sugar, about 15 drops of peppermint essential oil, and 1/2 cup of coffee grounds from a fresh brewed pot. Combine these ingredients in a bowl and mix them well using a fork. You should then transfer this scrub to a sealed jar to refrigerate and cool before using it. When ready to use and since the wake-up scrub has oil in it, stand on a rubber bath mat to prevent slips or falls. Scrub body thorougly while paying special attention to the roughest spots on your body such as elbows and knees. Once you are done scrubbing your body, wash skin with a natural soap or body wash, pat dry with towel, and finally, use a body lotion to seal the moisture in.
Drink Lots of Water
Everyone needs water, and plenty of it, to stay hydrated. This is true for all year round but especially true for the warmer months when we tend to sweat our bodily moisture out. Make sure to supplement the moisture inside your body by drinking at least 6 to 8 glasses every day. Other options for healthy fluid include natural juices, mineral water, and even tea.
Pay Special Attention to your Diet
Make sure to get your healthy proteins. These include soybean milk, fat-free milk, other liquid proteins, and foods such as walnuts, plenty of fruits and veggies, fish, and lean meat. Dried fruits are also good for your diet this time of year.
Choose the Best Skin Care Products
You can choose the best skin care products by going for the alcohol free facial cleansers. Also, reach for skin care products that include Vitamin A in them since Vitamin A not only helps improve the blood cycle but also reduces wrinkles.
Cleanse the Skin Twice per Day
You will want to clean your skin once in the morning and once in the evening. You will want to pay special attention to your morning cleanser and ensure it includes SPF to prevent damage from the sun. For the evening, make sure to choose an alcohol free cleanser that will not only clean your skin better and more naturally but will also act as a base for anything else you may apply to the skin.
