With the changing of the seasons comes a change in your wardrobe, makeup and hairstyles! (Thank heavens!) However, if you have spent the past few months growing out your hair you probably don't want to try the latest bob. (Quick note though--bangs are hot again this spring. Yeah!) One cool alternative for spring hairstyles is a ponytail or a pair of perky pigtails. Think you can't pull this look off? Yes, you can! Try these new twists on an old hairstyle favorite.
Spring Ponytails
This year, spring ponytails rest low and have a big bump at the crown. All you need for this pretty style is a teasing comb and a ponytail holder. Style your hair giving it the texture you want. Give it waves with a diffuser, straighten it or boost the volume with hot rollers. Section off the bangs with a teasing comb. (I like a lot of bangs, personally!)
Low ponies worn sleek and smooth were huge on the runways for spring shows. I've seen more than a few worn with a silver or purple smoky eye. For something different, sport an asymmetrical knot at the back of your head. It's a ponytail wrapped and slid around the elastic.
Bows are back too! (Thank goodness. Love those!) Whether thin or wide, jazz up any ponytail with a colorful bow.
Yes, You Can Wear Pigtails!
People either love or hate ponytails. Personally, I never say never! Pigtails worn as braids are getting a lot of love. (Thanks Katniss!) Part your hair evenly at the back of your head. Cinch them loosely into ponytails to secure them. Then remove the elastic from one ponytail at a time, divide the ponytail into three sections, then braid it loosely. (The looser the better, I say!) Weave a silk ribbon through the braid. So gorgeous!
Are you ready for spring? With these cute spring hairstyles you'll look great wherever you go!
