3 Great Themes for Your Winter Wedding! Plan a Fun Theme for Your Winter Wedding!

3 Great Themes for Your Winter Wedding! Plan a Fun Theme for Your Winter Wedding!
Most brides choose to get married in the warm summer months, but winter weddings can be just as beautiful as well. If you are planning a winter wedding, it is important to plan every detail out- after all, this is your big day, and you want it to be beautiful and memorable! Read on for three ideas on winter wedding themes and ideas, and remember every detail is important: from the attire to the decorations and wedding party gifts, make sure you don't skip over any details to make your wedding fabulous!

Winter Wonderland Themed Wedding - If you love Christmastime, why not have your wedding theme be centered around the holidays? Red, green, and white can be your wedding colors, reflected in the bridesmaid dresses and the bouquets. Serve snowflake cake pops, peppermint sticks, candy canes, apple cider, and Christmas cookies at your reception. Have a hot chocolate bar, complete with marshmallows, and let guests choose their own flavors. Have guests decorate their own gingerbread house. Christmas lights and fake snow are great decorations for a winter-themed wedding. Poinsettias are a must have in your wedding bouquet, and can also displayed on the tables at the reception. If you live in an area that gets frequent snow, take your pictures with your wedding party outside - nothing could be more beautiful, and this will be a change from the traditional church wedding party pictures. Using lots of glitter on the décor and table settings will give your wedding that winter wonderland look! Have icicle ornaments hanging in your venue and at your reception. Give your guests Santa hats to wear as they leave, and have them sprinkle you with fake snow as you are making a run to your get-away car! The new Disney movie, "Frozen" displays a perfect winter setting for a wedding theme. Icicles, crystals, rhinestones, diamonds, they all can make a magical background for a winter wedding.

Victorian Themed Winter Wedding - Have you ever seen those old vintage Christmas postcards with the beautiful pictures of a snowy backdrop? Vintage themes seem to be all the rage for weddings these days. If you are a fan of the good old days, give your wedding a vintage theme. A faux fur wrap, button-up Victorian style wedding boots, and a bouquet dusted with snow are all vintage touches you can add to your wedding attire. Beading and lace on the wedding dress is also a lovely vintage look for the bride. Have Frank Sinatra or old Christmas music playing at your reception to make the guests feel as if they have taken a step back in time. Have your guests write you and your new spouse a note on a vintage Christmas postcard - you can use these later on to decorate your house with at Christmastime!

Rustic Themed Winter Wedding - If you are having a smaller, more intimate wedding, why not have a rustic themed wedding? What is more romantic in winter than snuggling up to a nice warm fire with some hot cocoa? Rent a log cabin and decorate it rustically. Set up a Christmas tree in the corner, place stockings and candles over the chimney, have a fire going in the fireplace, and decorate with Christmas lights. When guests enter, have them set your wedding gifts underneath the Christmas tree. Complete the rustic wedding feel with a bouquet of pinecones and berries, lightly dusted with fake snow. Decorate for the reception with moss, candles, and pinecones. Give your guests a rustic ornament with your wedding date on it, and they will remember your special day for years to come! If it is available to you, rent a horse and open carriage as your get-away car.
