Planning on serving fruit at your wedding? Maybe you haven't really thought about it? Well, let's take a minute to consider it. You are going to need food for the wedding reception - and fruit is always a great food to serve - but fruit can also be the table decorations. Citrus fruit, apples, grapes, and other delicious fruit, make an impressive table runner. Maybe you can't picture that, but when you choose to make a fruit table runner for your reception, you'll see just how lovely it is.

You don't need any particular talents to create a fruit table runner. You'll just serve juicy fruits by placing them directly onto each table. But it's the way that you display the fruits that make them resemble a table runner. Decide on the fruits that you want to use, such as citrus fruits, apples and grapes, or other combinations. Instead of simply laying them out on a table, add greenery, and the table runner will be most impressive - and edible!

You can visit a greenhouse to find orange or apple branches; you can also go to a floral shop and find something that looks similar. Another choice is to purchase plastic orange garland, cut off the oranges, and lay the branches - with leaves - on the table. The branches will then "hold" the fruits that you intend to serve. A craft store offers even more possibilities with choices of vines and artificial branches.

At various places on the branches, lay a whole fruit, or a cut fruit, to represent the fruits on the branches. Keep all of the vines within a certain area, down the middle of the table, to make the arrangement look like a table runner. If you're serving citrus fruits, place whole and cut oranges, limes, and lemons. Cut grapefruits in half and place them next to vines as well. If you're serving citrus, make it all citrus; if you're serving other fruits, combine apples and grapes, or just serve peaches. If you use green apples and green grapes the grapes look like tiny apples on the tree branches.
