Idaho Falls: Enjoy the Snake and Relax

A real surprise place to visit where you can relax and enjoy life is Idaho Falls. Learn more about this special place where you can vacation.
While visiting Idaho a special place to visit with a riverfront view is Idaho Falls. The Snake River runs along this quaint looking town, and there are several hotels where you can stay and enjoy relaxation at its finest. The falls that flow off of this river are unique because the river keeps moving forward plus a view and the sound of waterfalls curves toward you.

See and Believe

Idaho Falls is one of those places where you have to see it to believe it and feel it. A picture does not tell the story. The joy of visiting here comes when you observe the lives of families enjoying the good life. A sidewalk and park runs along the river where kids chase ducks and lovers hold hands.
If you vacation at a theme park lots of money can be spent to entertain the kids at rides. This place brings the family together without the crowds where walking, throwing a ball, and watching boats navigate the river and turning around without crashing over the falls is a part of the day.

Inexpensive Hotels With A View

There are four riverfront hotels at Idaho Falls where rates can be under $100 per night, or upgrade to a balcony overlooking the river for a bit more. We stayed at Le Ritz one night on our way to visit Yellowstone Park. On the return trip a room at The Hilton Garden Inn gave us that balcony experience.
There is a beautiful Cathedral that stays lighted all night across from the river that looks like a glow towards heaven. The main river rushes by with a smaller river complementing the mood with a lazy look. The sound of the falls can be heard faintly or very loud constantly depending on your distance from it.

Restaurants and Activities

There are plenty of places to have good meals in Idaho Falls. The Idaho Museum can be visited here. Traffic snarls are not a problem like in some big cities. Life is simple here and people are friendly. Summer nights are usually cool and pleasant. Winter fun includes skiing only 30 minutes away at Kelly Canyon.
Idaho Falls has the story of how the town creates electric power at the falls location. There is no charge to visit and enjoy the falls and the park along the river. Yellowstone Park or Grand Teton is a pleasant two hour drive. If you visit either of these parks Idaho Falls is a great stop coming or going to Boise.
