Easy to Make Last Minute Valentine's Day Gifts

Easy to Make Last Minute Valentine's Day Gifts
So, you're down to the wire, and you haven't shopped for Valentine's Day gifts yet. Or, you're financially embarrassed and aren't going to be able to come up with money to buy gifts for your loved ones. Don't worry about it another minute. There are many Valentine's Day gifts that you can make for kids, your mate, family members, and others. Check out some of them:
You can make the most adorable gift for anyone by starting with a clear jar and lid. Make a label that says "Ten things I love about you", and put it on the front of the jar. Inside, put ten pieces of paper that each state something that you love about the person. Some suggestions include "Your smile", "Your big heart", and "You're a great mom". Tie a ribbon around the jar lid and give it to your loved one.
For under a buck, you can make a gift for a girl or a woman, by using a wooden heart. You'll find one in any number of sizes at a craft store. Paint it or even use a piece of contact paper to cover the front of it. Paint can be anything from spray paint to a marker. Glue a pin backing onto it to make a pin. Glue the heart onto a headband to make a fashion accessory. The heart (or more than one), can be attached to a picture frame, a blank ring, or a ponytail tie.
Little Debbies, or other heart-shaped snack cakes, make great gifts. They don't have much frosting on them but you can do something about that. Frost each one again or spoon candy melts over it. Freeze frosted cakes until the icing is stiff; candy-coated cakes can be written on when the candy sets. Make each heart-shaped cake into a conversation heart by writing little love remarks on them with a food marker. Turn the cake into a pop by pushing a popsicle stick into it. Wrap the cake with cellophane before gifting, or create several of them, and gift them in a box with a lid.
Make different cake pops by starting with glazed doughnut holes. Prepare candy melts, push a sucker stick into each doughnut hole, and dip the cake into the melts. Stand them all in a piece of Styrofoam until they dry. Cover with cellophane and tie a ribbon around each one. Give them out one by one or create a bouquet of them for someone special.
Never worry about not having Valentine's Day gifts. Visit a craft store and buy inexpensive supplies, or bake cookies, a cake, or cake pops to give out. The recipients will love the gifts and you can rest easy that you didn't let anyone down on Valentine's Day.
